US Political discussion has been so poisoned that the average American is apolitical, despite voting and being an informed citizen is a priority in putting beneficial legislature into place and protesting against ACTUALLY IMPORTANT ISSUES- like fixing inner cities or making healthcare affordable, or protecting first amendment rights in public school systems.
